What score did Mission: Impossible 8 receive on Rotten Tomatoes?

The eighth installment of Mission: Impossible, titled "Dead Reckoning Part Two", is already receiving strong early reviews.
The film holds a 72/100 rating on Metacritic (based on 30 reviews) and an impressive 89% on Rotten Tomatoes (from 62 reviews). Critics are raving about the action — especially a stunning biplane stunt, where Tom Cruise clings to the wing mid-flight, performing his own death-defying moves while fully in character.
Reviewers also praised Cruise’s ability to balance acting with extreme stunts, adding emotional weight to the spectacle.
However, not all feedback was glowing. Critics pointed to too many new, underdeveloped characters, with only the submarine captain (played by Tramell Tillman) standing out. The villain Gabriel, introduced in Part 7, was also seen as a weak point with little narrative evolution.
Some critics felt it was a weak sendoff for Ethan Hunt’s saga, while others called it a fitting conclusion.
The film hits international theaters May 23.
