Which city launches the “Stop Your Whining” tour?

Sludge-metal legends Melvins and power-pop icons Redd Kross will share top billing this autumn on the 24-city “Stop Your Whining” tour—their first joint run after three decades of cult parallel careers. The trek launches 18 October in Boise, “because Idaho didn’t complain last time we blew the PA,” jokes Buzz Osborne. Each night the bands swap closing slots, then unite for a six-song mash-up featuring Melvins’ “Honey Bucket,” Redd Kross’s “Lady in the Front Row,” and a Kiss cover.
Dale Crover drums for both sets, while Steven McDonald joins Melvins on the encore. A limited split 7-inch on yellow-black “bee” vinyl offers one new track per band plus a zine of ’90s backstage Polaroids. VIP packages include a Q&A moderated by comedian-superfan Patton Oswalt. Five dollars from every ticket benefits Sweet Relief Musicians Fund; Live Nation forecasts multiple sell-outs, noting the two acts’ combined 1.8 million monthly Spotify listeners.
