Who is leading the talks to acquire OnlyFans for $8B?

OnlyFans, the massively popular creator platform known for adult content, may soon be sold in a multi-billion-dollar deal.

According to Reuters, a consortium of investors led by the U.S.-based Forest Road Company is in advanced talks to acquire the platform for $8 billion. Discussions reportedly began in March 2024, with an official announcement expected in the coming weeks.

Owned by Fenix International Ltd, the platform has seen explosive growth since the pandemic. In the fiscal year ending November 2023, OnlyFans generated $6.6 billion in revenue, compared to just $375 million in 2020.

OnlyFans is also exploring other strategic options, including a potential IPO and talks with alternative buyers. The company’s sole owner is Leonid Radvinsky, an American entrepreneur of Ukrainian descent, who acquired the platform in 2018.

The platform allows content creators to monetize subscriptions directly — especially in adult entertainment — taking a cut via service commissions.
